About Feliciano Centurión
(Paraguay, 1962 – Argentina, 1996)
Born in San Ignacio, Paraguay, Feliciano emigrated to Argentina with his family in 1973 due to economic hardship. In 1980, he moved to Buenos Aires to study at the National School of Fine Arts.
In the 1990s, he became a key figure in the Arte Luz movement, centered around the Cultural Center “El Rojas”, where he began introducing deeply personal themes and unconventional materials into his work.
His art included everyday objects—like toys, cleaning supplies, and especially embroidery and textiles—often reclaiming forms traditionally linked to domestic and feminine labor.
Though not widely recognized in Paraguay during his lifetime, his work continues to be relevant and celebrated in international contemporary art spaces.
